At the northern weather station of Pamplemousses, a few kilometres inland, the December averages are 30.7 °C by day and 20.9 °C at night, 128 mm of rain over 10 days with at least 1 mm, and 8 hours of sunshine a day. Mont Choisy has no station of its own: it lies between this station and the drier west coast. The sea averages about 26.6 °C off Grand Baie.

What to do in Mauritius in December
The AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, on the DP World Tour, is played at Mont Choisy Le Golf, next to the villa, from 10 to 13 December 2026. Lychees and mangoes are in season and sold by the roadside. Christmas and New Year are celebrated on the beaches and in family homes; book restaurants for the 24th and the 31st well ahead. South African families arrive from mid-December.
